Built in 1856 to fabricate mining machinery, the Miners Foundry is the birthplace of the Pelton Wheel, which revolutionized water power in 1879. Currently, the Miners Foundry is a nonprofit cultural center. Unique and historic, the Miners Foundry Cultural Center is Nevada City’s largest and most popular meeting place, with over 8,500 square feet of space, accommodating up to 950 people. Today the historic building is the preferred venue for conferences, banquets, festivals, concerts, dances, art shows, and weddings. With its massive stone walls adorned with historic photos and foundry artifacts, high beamed ceilings and iron doors, the Miners Foundry provides an impressive, flexible facility for your event.
